Welcome
Home Barn and The Granary used to be part of a working farm. We are situated in the countryside north of Preston, Lancashire, a mile or so from the village of Woodplumpton.
Despite Home Barn and The Granary being such a short distance from the City of Preston, this is a very quiet rural setting and ideal for relaxation, for those working in the area or visiting family and friends.
The Lancaster Canal runs next to the property providing beautiful views, interesting walks and a variety of wildlife. We are on the Northern Route of the Lancashire Cycleway and welcome cyclists. Guests can enjoy a variety of animals – pygmy goats, ducks, geese, hens and several cats. Home Barn and The Granary’s own free range eggs are always on the menu. The owners dogs are very friendly and well behaved pets are welcome.
Home Barn
Home Barn is Grade II listed and still has the original 17th Century cruck beams. It has been tastefully converted into a comfortable home which includes bed and breakfast accommodation.
The Granary
The Granary is just across the yard from Home Barn and was originally used as a piggery amongst other uses. This too has been converted into a single bedroom self catering cottage with a very high standard of accommodation.
Guests especially love the log burning stove and the cosyness of this small cottage. Through the windows chaffinch, yellow hammer, starling, woodpecker, sparrows, blue tit, wagtail and squirrels are regular visitors. Pheasants, wild ducks and grouse are often seen with the goats and farm ducks.
